FAN

I am proud to share that for the first time ever, parent groups across the Bend-La Pine School District (BLP) are uniting for a fundraising campaign to benefit BLP students and families served by the Family Access Network (FAN). Lava Ridge PTO is a part of this effort and we want to make sure that our community knows how they can help! If you are able to help, will you consider supporting FAN’s crucial work with the families they serve in our district?

Many students in BLP are experiencing even deeper hardships than before as families have lost jobs, transportation, and housing due to COVID-19. In light of this reality, local parent leaders have organized a way that community members can take action to support families in crisis. At a time when we feel powerless to control so much around us, I am grateful to share this opportunity for those who want to give and to help families in need. Unique to Central Oregon, FAN employs 13 advocates in 37 BLP sites. Located directly in the schools, advocates work with teachers, principals, students, and their families to address crucial needs - food, shelter, utility assistance, school supplies, and much more. These advocates are experts at navigating resources for social services which helps families receive the services they need.

Please review the flyer below from our joint PTO/PTA leadership team about our partnership with FAN and learn how you can partner with this incredible cause through March 31st! Donations are tax-deductible and donations from this campaign will go directly to FAN to help students and families in Bend–La Pine schools. This is an opportunity for us as parents and families to directly support those needing help in our community.
